The Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers (CYACE) is organizing the 8th International Construction Safety and Health Conference and Exhibition titled «Respect Human Rights – Everyone has a Role to Play» on the 26th and 27th of May 2023, at the Hotel Hilton Nicosia. This is a follow-up to relevant Conference on Vizion Zero, which took place in 2021. The Conference motto is «Focus on People – Join Vision Zero».

The Conference will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, with co-organizers the Construction Section of the International Social Security Association (ISSA-C) and the German Institutions for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention “Berufsgenossenschaft der Bauwirtschaft” (BG BAU) and supporters the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ΕΤΕΚ), the European Council of Civil Engineers (ECCE), the International Safety and Health Construction Coordinators Organization (ISHCCO) and the Department of Labour Inspection (DLI).

The Conference is part of the activities of the General Meeting of ECCE, which will be hosted by CYACE the day before the Conference, on the 25th of May 2023.


The aim of the Conference is to highlight the need to respect and protect human rights as well as to highlight and explain that everyone has a role to play. It will be held under Vision Zero global campaign of ISSA. It is important to point out that the vision of “Zero Accidents” is included in the objectives of the Strategic Framework of the European Commission for Health and Safety at Work 2021-2027 and the Safety and Health Policy of Cyprus 2021-2027.

The Conference is included in the training activities for the Member of our Association, as well as for its contribution to the achievement of the objectives of the Safety and Health Policy of Cyprus 2021-2027.

The Conference will be a unique opportunity for professionals in the construction sector and in related activities, as well as for occupational safety and health experts and consultants to gain knowledge and exchange information. The participants will be informed through practical examples regarding the most important issues and developments in construction safety and health. Also, the participants will have the opportunity to participate actively in the Conference’s Workshops.
